About the Game
Cosmic Star Heroine is a Kickstarter-funded sci-fi RPG from Zeboyd Games, the studio behind Cthulhu Saves the World. It openly channels Phantasy Star, Chrono Trigger, and Suikoden, casting you as Alyssa L’Salle, an elite agent who uncovers a conspiracy and becomes a public hero.
Combat is its star: snappy turn-based battles built around a “Style” meter and abilities that deplete and recharge, so you can’t just spam your best move — every turn is a tight little decision. Enemies are visible on the field, there are no random battles, and HP largely resets between fights to reward aggression.
It’s wrapped in crisp retro pixel art and a synth-heavy soundtrack, with up to 11 recruitable party members and a brisk, no-grind pace.
